3D Printer Pen Wall Plaque Project

You may be thinking what has a 3d printed pen got anything to do with carving foam?

How to make a wall plaque using a 3D printer Pen.

First carve the wall plaque in XPS foam or eps foam.

Paint the xpsfoam wall plaque, sand and smooth the surface.

Seal the surface of the plaque with exterior grade PVA Glue(must be exterior grade).

Next make a latex mould of the XPS foam wall plaque.

Make a support structure for the latex mould.

Finally use the 3D Printed pen and draw over the mould with the pen applying the filament to the mould surface.

Time taken to fill the mould with a layer of PLA filament approximately 5 hours. An evenings work while watching a couple of films on Netflix or a lot of YouTube shorts.

The size of the wall plaque was about 200mmx300mm x 15mm. The thickness of the filament layer was about 1-2mm thick, the back of the plaque was not solid it was hollow and very light weight.

You may be asking why do it this way as other methods would be quicker? because I wanted to, because I can and because I like finding new ways of doing things even it it takes longer.
